Killer chiller installd

Doesn't the ecu in the M157s force the IATs to stay between 90-110 degrees regardless of ambient temps? So all the KC will do is fight the ECU all day trying to raise IATs back to what it deems proper levels.
I have the full AMS cooling setup and my IATs are the same as stock on day to day driving. The only difference is under WOT it does not get up as high and recovers ridiculously faster.

Looks as if he may have installed the standalone setup. If so that runs it's own compressor. Additionally, correct me if I am wrong but the system attached to the car's AC can be turned on and off as desired. I don't think anyone installing a Killer Chiller for the strip or street runs is thinking about a nice cool cabin?

You have those logs yet, been several weeks . BTW, what state are you in? Just checking on average climate temps in your area.

Nice to see a KC on the car. I loved mine on my E55 and a number of guys followed. Summer temps in AL took maybe extra 5min to get fully comfy in the car but when IATs are at 60* in 90* heat it’s worth it to know your are playing with the full potential of your car. What’s good with more power in cold weather with colder tires?!? Give me cold weather power on hot tires in the summer!!!

Pretty sure the AC compressor clutches disengage at WOT so the math really doesn’t matter. These are good for supercooling IATs before a run and post run recovery to eliminate heat soak.

Personal opinion atleast... I'd love to see some data logging

Who really cares about before and after the run though? You can cold soak it sure but I'd really need to look at some numbers to justify that at all... Same amount of money you coulda done water injection which will bring down IAT and EGT. In addition to that the meth is fuel and the water is adding O2 to the cylinder... Same money it seems like you're getting alot more out of water injection.

On my E55 I ran KC, trunk tank and meth. Meth kept IAT under 100 and I gained 40hp and like 60tq if I recall. On a dunk dynamic is put down 521hp and 668tq. Meth helps up top and KC helps in the street light to light.

Killer chiller works great now. I removed both of my heat exhangers and going to sell them wast of money. Is only 65 deg and driving around my IAT was 50 deg quick pulls it goes down to 45 deg and then back around 55 deg. So far works amazing, i do have a 3 gallon ice box in the trunk and methanol my car is a 2012 so i had do split my cooling system. I live in Atlanta it gets really hot here, KC works better in hotter temp above 75 deg when the A/C pressure is high right now is really to cold.

Wrong.

He is wrong 100% if the inatke air temp is 60 deg ecu will not fight it to get it to 90 lol. ecu will pull timing above 125 f

Actually, he’s NOT wrong. The ECU will target IATs of 100*f and cycle the I/C pump on/off to keep it as close as possible. I think I started a thread about this years ago.

on 2012 model ecu is not doing that. maybe on 2013 where the the cooling system is split. how ever the KC will not fight the ecu lol. In that case pump should be wired up directly.

Now you’re just making stuff up. I’m open to any proof you’d like to offer but until then there’s no reason to assume the 2012 was any different. According to MB, for the M157 cooling system the pump turns on at 45*C (113f) and turns off again when temps drop to 40*C (104f).

No reason to make up anything. Is just what i have seen and experience. I work on them everyday, not just my personal car. I can look at a 2013 and report back. It really doesn't matter, the ecu will not fight the Killer chiller, pump needs to be wired up directly to switch ignition.

Correct. soft CEL can be delete in the ecu with the tune. like you said is not a big deal only annoying if you keep scanning your car and you will see it in the background
