Could use a bit more negative camber
Oops... POSITIVE camber
It was again time for another pair of stickies for the canyons. Never drifted or seen a burnout..
This past weekend I felt for the first time the rear end step out a bit on corner exit and as I assumed it was due to a little silt on the road but I was wrong.
A wise man once said :
"Check the car and if the car is ok check yourself", well it was the car..
I decided to go up from 295 to 305 on the new set of Cup 2s for the rear..
I had to remove the 15mm spacers and go with a 5mm since there are no 10mm that will fit the hubs...

I will try and find an adjustable rear upper, maybe something like I did for my wagon front upper A arms.

What are you camber specs for front and rear? Also how many miles did you do with that spec on those tires?

It's my canyon carver but I still have to get there on the freeway..
I just found out there is a camber shim kit from Mercedes for the GTS, part #1973570600 same part left/right side.
I'll be picking them up today and see how it goes...

That's the same part number for the GTR, I'm getting those this month and going to play with it a little.

I just bought two shim kits for my alignment guy to get me to about -2.7 F and -2.3 R camber. (I don’t want to go any more aggressive as I do drive the car as a DD occasionally). These kits are expensive so be prepared to pay the MB ‘adjustment’! lol My car is at, and will remain at it’s stock ride height btw.
Ronin, did you have that inner wear on both rear tyres or just one? If just one then your toe must be off on the one side. If both it’s far too aggressive a (-) camber for your type of driving.

I briefly spoke to the parts department at my dealer and they told me it was either $130 or $160 for the kit. I didn't get any more information because I was in a hurry but I'm guessing that is what i'll be paying per well right not per axle?

I run a stiffer set of KW race springs at their lowest settings.
I picked up two sets of shims for the car, I'll know tomorrow morning how much positive I can add when I'm at the alignment shop.
Now I'm glad I removed the 15mm spacers due to the fact that the top of the tire will be moving closer to the inner fender lip with a bit more positive camber..

You’ll want 2 kits to do the entire car, and you’ll want to warn whoever is doing the alignment , it will be a challenger for the top spot in the category of “biggest pain in the a$$ alignment They’ve ever done”.
Just be patient through the process as you go back and forth with the various number shims per side / per axle to get it all spot on.

Did you ever get around to having your alignment done?

So there was the threat of massive storms and golfball size hail when I was leaving work to drive over to the shop, so I canceled and headed home.
I’ve got an appointment for 1st July to get to about -2.7 F and -2.3 R, retaining OEM caster and toe to preserve the DD ride characteristics. Two boxes of shims purchased and waiting.

Where did you purchase the shim kits from?
