someone please help with my car :(
Hey guys i have a 2017 c63s edition 1 cabriolet. I got a dinan tune off of ebay used. the guy said that he pulled it off his c63s. dinan part number is D440-0054. i was eh about this guy because he had 0 ratings on ebay and i am a seller so i know scams and know what to look for. we talked and he seem legit because he knew what he was talking about and gave me alot of info. i was also iffy because he was only selling it for 1k which was a great deal in my opinion. i got a guy who said he knew what he was doing and obviously didnt. got the tune installed for $340 cash. only reason why i kind of trusted this guy to install because he does alot of his own work on his bmw m4 and also is a mechanic for jets and planes. well there was mistakes that i later notice that he did. first he didnt let the ecu go to sleep. second he didnt disconnect the negative from the battery. when he was done i drove it and nothing popped up. i was eh about it at first because the engine had a huge vibration and there was a sound that was different. i thought maybe eh the tune i guess. then i drove it back to his house turn it off and turn it on again and got the check engine which was the p0106, he baically told me that the ecu has the learn the air etc etc. i didnt know anything. then driving back home mostly in comfort it didnt pick up like it normally would even in comfort. got home and got 2 more check engine for misfires. then i decide dinan has a bypass or whatever plug that u disconnect tune and put that on. i first reset engine codes and i did that and still got the same 3 check engine plus another one. got 4 total engine codes so i asked a friend to pull it off. now i still get a p0106 code. all codes are in attachment that i got. now the car just doesnt sound right anymore. basically took a working car and now its worse than when i started off. any helps/ recommendations means alot. i live in north new jersey and was going to take it to elite motors but if i have to spend another 1k or so i might as well go obd2. thanks

I don’t think anyone here can help you. Look like installation issues to me. Your best option, find a Dinan authorized installer and re-install the kit. I ordered my kit new but end up got a used one due to new one didn’t arrived on time. Auto talent did the installed on my car with no issue.

How do you like that tune? Can you actually tell that the car has more power now or is it just a placebo? Also, with the dinan tune is there anything one can easily do at home to switch between stock and tune modes without having to pay hundreds of dollars to have it taken out and then again to have it reinstalled?

yes i heard about auto talent but correct me if im wrong that is west coast california? im on the east coast north new jersey. Elite motors in lodi nj is authorized by dinan i gave dinan a call actually to see if they could help me diagnose the problem. i really dont think this is like a tune issue or harness just installation. dont get me wrong i was like ehh too because in my opinion 1k for a tune that retails at 2.3k is a steal.

I love it !!! The crackles and pops is even louder now. The kit come with a plug-in cap. If you want to go back to stock when you bring your car in for service, just un-plug the cable from the unit and plug-in the cap to cable. Can I feel it .... just watch the video Dinan vs stock.

right now my only big concern is if it is the tune i dont want to be charge installation and removal, then my total price would be close to a obd2 tune for example from renntech, oe or vivid

This place elite motors in Lodi NJ is authorized by dinan. they wanted $625 (which I should of wait and got done) but being impatient, I got someone I didn’t even know and was found through a friend. Mainly i wanted to test the tune out so that if anything tune related didn’t work, I could use ebay 30 day money back guarantee.

This is a really short video of me driving it after removing the tune. Before everything the sound was never like this if u could hear it over the brake assistant (sorry about that) and if u slow it down u could see how the rev wobble. Even with the tune it was like this. I was in race. Comfort it’s actually more worse and start up sounds funny.

Cant the dealership diagnose/fix your car now that it’s back to stock? Then just reinstall the Dinan on your own for free.

this would of never began if i was too scared to install it myself. also dinan instructions i need looking at it from other installers there pretty bad but the fact that is i don't know what the dealer might say. I'm most worried about voiding my warranty with them. im going to the dealership this Thursday worse comes to worse.

The reset and update to stock software should put your car back to normal. Then if you're looking to tune take it to any tuner close to you, i'd go to DMEtuning personally, but have also heard great thinks about labworkx as mentioned above.
Hope you get it sorted out.

Remove the piggyback and just take it into a mod friendly dealer and ask them to reset all the codes and install any updates if they have any available. There was one for 2017 cars for the trans.
