Diagnostic/Rig mode

Accidentally got myself stuck in this mode.
Rosd test instructions performed to a T do not initiate road test. Step where you press esp light to flash-go solid-begin test. Never results in a "solid"esp light.

Unable to shut it off in DAS under ABR module special function due to not knowing a DAS password for my system

I have also tried -
Disconnect both batteries
Rolling test in secret service menu

Nothing seems to work

I had this happen too, there is a weird complicated procedure I found in the CL W216 section. Search there, it works.

Here's the simple version. Plus, I found a slight adjustment.
1. Vehicle stationary, steering centered, foot off brake, engine running, flat ground, open area about 100' or more across.
2. Press ESP Off; ESP warning light will begin flashing. When it goes solid, proceed.
3. Press brake pedal
4. Shift into D
5. Release brake
6. Begin driving 10-15 mph, steering > 90 deg, < 180 deg. You have to execute about a half turn.
7. When ESP light begins flashing, brake to a stop.
8. Shift to N
9. Release brake

I can't get past step 2.
ESP begins flashing...never goes solid then stops flashing altogether.
So I'm unable to even go steps 3-9.

Any thoughts?

I'll look again but last time the ROAD TEST was the only error.

I had just replaced the yaw rate speed sensor located in the trunk near the rear sam.
And not following the instructions I was given I accidentally initiated this road test

Yes you press it to start the test.
It flashes than goes solid. And you begin moving.

For me it flashes than stops.
Never goes solid.
So never get to perform test.

And you're doing that with the car in park? If so then I don't know what to tell you.

Actually you do it while the car is in neutral
But I have tried it in park as well just to see.

Ya I've got a real issue here lol
I would think there is a way in DAS to end the test but the only place it may be is blocked by a password that I don't know.

I've been advised I can always just get a replacement ESP module.. that's an insane solution lol

Thanks for trying

So what started this whole thing? Were you having issues with it? You replaced a yaw rate speed sensor... Why?

Had the code come up for that yaw speed sensor.
Wis gave instruction to replace it so did that.
But then I got iffy and wasn't sure if the nstructions said to do the road test.
I believe I was supposed to.

However , I'm unable to perform it, and unable to abort it.
So stuck

Not sure how WIS(work instruction system) told you to replace it. But in any case here is how I do it.

Vehicle parked on a flat surface
make sure there is enough room to make a U turn
engine running
move steering wheel in straight ahead position
parking brake released
press brake pedal
shift vehicle to neutral
release brake pedal
press ESP off switch
ESP light flashes in cluster and then stays on
press brake pedal
shift to D
start driving (over 6mph)
bust a u turn withing 10 seconds
steering wheel has to turn more than 90 degrees
ESP light should flash
come to a stop on level surface(brake pedal pressed)
shift to neutral
release brake pedal
vehicle stationary
ALL LIGHTS SHOULD GO OFF

you might have to try a couple of times

And here is my problem.
The ESP light never stays on.
Everything to this point performed correctly.

It flashes...and keeps flashing for about 10 seconds then goes off.

Nothing I do is triggering the light going to solid

Ok. Man I don't know what to tell you. I have done so many of those modules and never had one like yours.

Ya I hear you.
My best option seems to be abort the test.
Is that do-able under "special functions" inside the module?
I can't access it without a password

The error I have now is that the pre requisites for the test are not met.

Not sure how that's possible.
Besides be on a flat surface in Neutral and pushing the ESP button off, I dont see any other steps.
Unless I'm missing something..

On my 09 GL550 I also don’t get a solid yellow. Just goes to black. Do you ever get your issue resolved?

I have the exact same problem. ESP light flashes but then never stays on. Were you able to fix your problem?

Disregard above question. I figured out how the Road Test process works on at least my 2011 W221. Need to go into the menu in order to turn ESP off prior to initiating the road test.
