Running Boards

Aha.
yes, it's possible for both.
if you talk to your parts department advisor, you can get the side skirts for GLS450 without the running boards.
also, if you'd like you can get all the parts for GLS600 Maybach's deployable running board and replace your GLS580's. it's very very pricy and your parts guy can get all necessary components.
plug and play, and no coding required. but it's substantially more involved, for obvious reasons.

The Maybach boards sound great! Are all the wiring components already in place? Would you happen to know a competent parts guy especially with this idea? I’m able to install them myself I would just need the parts if they are available. Thanks for your great idea.

gls600 running boards retro fit to gls580
Hey Guys,
I have called two dealerships in my area the first one is Ray Catena Edison Mercedes and the 2nd one was Paramus Mercedes, both in Jersey. Edison MB Parts dept were unsure on ordering the part and gave me a spit ball quote of 2600 bucks just for the gls600 boards. Edison MB Service said that they could install it but not 100 percent sure it would work. I get it, the board electronics would not be able to flash to the ecu. I am good with that. Paramus MB parts told me that they won't be able to order it and to check back with them by end of July 2024. I felt like that was a brush off response.
My questions are, I found a company that sells the retro fit kit :
https://ownsilent.com/products/merce...e&_ss=e&_v=1.0
Their return policy is basically if un-opened (not installed, used) they would accept it and refund the money.
Do you guys have a better recommendations on where to order the retro fit kit gls600 boards to gls580? Oh and my truck is cpo so I do not want to void the warranty. Dealership said this is considered a cosmetic item. Is it best for them to install it? Will they allow aftermarket product to be installed?
Thank you all in advance!
Dan

Everything I hear about running boards is that they should be ordered w/the car and any attempts at retrofits are heavily looked down on (possibly voiding any remaining warranty)!

Hey EWL5,
Thank you for your feedback. What you said is confirmed, Mercedes Service informed that it would be a compartment void of warranty which would be anything the is in direct correlation to the installed part would be voided. I got the frowned upon vibe from their responses. At this point I will not move forward with changing anything to my GLS.
Thank you all for all the valuable information and share resources on this post and all the other posts I read and learned from!
