2012 Mercedes C250 coupe 1.8L turbo - gas smell
So my wife's car just started having a strong gas smell when the tank is filled up. It's strongest inside the car so I suspect the gas tank cover (under the rear seat) has a crack in it and also needs the gasket replaced. I went to the MB dealer and that plastic bolt on cover is sold only with a new fuel pump and it's like $800 CDN.
Was thinking about using plastic epoxy that is gasoline resistant. Have anyone done this before?

So I took a look at the top of the fuel tank under the rear seat. The fuel pump cover(s) (yes, there are 2 fuel pumps for my car) were fine and no leaks or smell. I crawled under the car and noticed the worst raw fuel smell coming from the driver's side rear (near the wheel well).
So probably a fuel line corroded or the point where the fuel filler tube connects to the tank is having an issue. Are fuel lines easy to replace? Can the job be dangerous?![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
