For the sound, you can get the Exhaust Valve Module instead of a whole exhaust swap. I just received mine but can't find any installation guides so I'll be putting together a video. Apparently, the stock "open valve" button doesn't actually open them 100%, it's still tied to speed.

At a stoplight yesterday, some kids in the car adjacent ask me to rev it up. I didn’t because I knew the sound is is muted under 4000rpm; I felt bad and embarrassed to disappoint.

Becareful whith the factory warrantie, i call to renntech and them doest have an answer, but in the dealer the answer was WARRANITE CANCELED!!! I ALL THE CAR, NOT ONLY IN ENGINE

BS on what the dealer says. It's not possible for any manufacturer to cancel warranty for unrelated issues (Magnuson-Moss act).The valve has no impact on warranty. People do exhaust mods all the time. Biggest issue there is related to emissions, etc. in case on downpipes, cat removal, aftermarket exhaust system.

I'm having the exhaust module installed now on my '23 SL63, installer said the install was trivial, but it throws a fault when enabled. Currently working with RennTech to resolve it.

Have you made the video yet? My replacement module arrives tomorrow, was curious if the install is easy enough for me to do myself vs driving hours to have someone else install

I did get my renntech module installed and it works great. I took lots of pics and will assemble a video with audio shortly. It was fairly easy to install but I did go to my MB service center and they helped me put it in. It has no effect on any of the vehicle electronics, it's simply opening a valve just before the muffler thus has no potential harmful impact on the vehicle unlike an engine tune. It's definitely noticeable even over Race mode with the stock open valves. The remote has two buttons, one is open and the other is "stock" so it just goes back to whatever the car is set to.

Forgot to update, the replacement RennTech sent out installed fine. With the tune and coding changes it completes the car for me. The tune especially transformed the car, less delayed slingshot and more instant power.

Excellent, but can you clarify if the exhaust sound comparison was done in Race and/or maximum exhaust mode for both the On and Off examples?

For brand exhausts. The Italian manufacturer Supersprint made a downpipe. For catback exhaust, Capristo made one that costs $7k+ and Renntech has a Muffler mod too.

I have the Supersprint donwpipe installed, if anyone is interested in its effect, please let me know. I also made a deal with a Chinese exhaust manufacturer who is working on a Titanium catback exhaust with expected price below $4K (w/ shipping included).

Hey! I'd love to hear how your SL Sounds. Almost no videos of R232's with exhausts exist. If you could, rev it in comfort valves closed, and race mode valves open. Oh and an emotion start wouldn't hurt
