Does anyone know if aftermarket running boards are the same for the 2024 as all of the prior years? I just got the GLE 450e and it didn't come with any. According to the order guide this can't be installed if it didn't already come installed from the factory. My wife is short and claims she needs them. Anyone have any experience with those ones that are probably made in China?

There were knock offs on Amazon a couple of years ago. As I recall they were missing the lighting and might not have mounting hardware or instructions per one purchasers review.
My wife thought she wanted them until I had a loaner with them. They fit tight to the body with room for about 1/2 of a shoe…awkward and pretty useless, IMO. Before going to a lot of trouble you might head to the Dealer and let her see for herself.

Yeah, I'm in the US. I got $7500 off for the electric car lease rebate.

We've gotten in and out of ones with and without them and my wife seems to prefer it. I haven't seen too many aftermarket alternatives that are an improvement to the OEM one though. I might have to settle for that one on Amazon that doesn't have lights.

I was asking about any discounts off MRSP directly from the dealer, not including any MB incentives, government credits, military discounts, etc.

SUV’s, Trucks are $30k higher aren’t they? Originally it was $50k car & $80k SUV/Truck.

It's $80,000 for vans, sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks $55,000 for other vehicles in addition to AGI and critical mineral and battery component requirements - https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductio...-2023-or-after. None of the Mercedes EV or PHEV models qualify after April 17, 2023 probably because they don't meet critical mineral and battery component requirements - https://fueleconomy.gov/feg/tax2023.shtml

However, there is a commercial EV tax credit that businesses get when they buy EVs or PHEVs and that credit does not have the above requirements - https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductio...vehicle-credit. GLE 450e qualifies for this credit. So, when one leases a 450e from Mercedes, Mercedes buys the vehicle as a business and leases it to the individual. They get a $7,500 tax credit and choose to pass it on to the lessee as part of the lease credit.

Likewise - I got that too. I thought of purchasing upright but that lease offer was too good to pass up. At the end of the lease I have the option to buy it at residual value which is even cheaper by putting the same money in a CD. I actually got a $80K car with the upgrades for $71,500 after all the discounts.

Take your wife to a Dealer to try them out. My wife said the same thing so I ordered a set on Amazon. They looked to be Factory OEM, probably back door from the Chinese Co making them. They arrived with no instructions and no mounting hardware...no lights. I think the Seller got kicked off Amazon since. I returned them and in the interim had a loaner with t8he R Boards. Wife thought they were useless so problem solved itself...
