2010 E350 engine sounds?
Hello to everybody,
I'm about to buy an 2010 e350 and I got a video of the engine running cold from the person selling it.
I had the feeling that the sound it was making it was a bit loud.
is it normal for these engines to be loud till they get hot?
Do these engines have timing chain problems like the older m272?
What else should I check?
Thanks in advance!

2012 E350 Cabriolet now SOLD to my son
yes the cam tensioners are driven by oil pressure. MB had to cover many M276 NA engines due to this in 2014.. The fix was to install new improved check valve for the system and new cam tensioners. If that got left too long, the lack of oil pressure in the engine would lead to main and rod bearing knock.
check to see if that was done and documented already. If it was then it may have been done with older superceded parts or it may just need doing again.
Also these are Direct Injected and those DO make some noise but nothing real loud.
