I'm growing to dislike automotive journalist more and more...

Came across an article, on my feed, which talks about the astronomical depreciation of MB EQS models, here's the article: https://www.autoevolution.com/news/u...tml#Misleading information...The car referenced in this article has been involved in 2 accidents, one minor, and the second was moderate. The REAL reason for the price is the car's accident history: https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor...CG2DB8PA031118.

I hate it when amateur authors try to sensationalize a theory. Most used examples go for $20K-$30K more than this example, which blows a giant hole in the author's premise. I relied on automotive journalist when I bought my Equus/G90 several years ago. While most of the pluses were fairly close to accurate, they left out a whole laundry list of negatives. And because they were hard to come by at the time, I bought mine shipped from out of state. I wn't go into detals about that experience, just that this type of writing, and video reviews too, don;t even come close to understandign the ownership expereince. And in the case of the above referenced, it's just plain misleading.

Well, you are in Seattle....the folks there MUST be pretty pliable to put up with what has to be put up with to live in (or near) Seattle....just sayin.....just read it, buy into and follow along.....we dont need no.....education...............

As for the story, or the car? Um, yeah...no way in hell an EV is EVER allowed to be so much as in my garage - period. Currently we have 24 cyl and six turbos with NOT ONE camera recording the surroundings of the cars - or "checkin in" while I sleep.....nope.

Most automotive articles are a joke, anyways. They sound like most politicians. I buy my cars online, but only after I have seen a similar one in person, test drove it, or a brand I have experienced with in the past.

I watch the reviews and filter out the opinions unless it's for entertainment.

I'm not very knowledgeable about eastern philosophy, but I seemed to see the yin and yang in the world when it comes to peace and war. And so with journalism, when you have enough bad, half baked and bias articles, good journalism will rise to save the day . . . some day, somewhere in the corners of the universe . . . the Jedi will use the Force for a comeback.

Forums like this "can" the Jedi. It's discouraging that it's become more difficult to seperate honest journalism from sensationalism and hyperbole; that goes for consumer goods, sports, and articles about money and politics. Guess that means I have to go back to reading actual books, with vetted bibliographies.
