What do you all think of the Lexus LC 500? I know it's long in the tooth, but the design is still unique and eye-catching, and it's one of the few cars still packing a NA V8.
I drove an LC 500 convertible last year (full write-up here) and it was all about the 5.0L V8 engine. It is naturally aspirated, spins out 471 hp, and makes exquisite sounds as it races to 7300 rpm.
Yes, the same motor in the IS 500 for much less money, but for whatever reason, the V8 is much more alert in the LC 500. In the LC 500, the throttle response was deliciously precise, and the 10-speed transmission was quick-witted. Making the V8 bark on paddle-shift rev matches was a joy.
Of course, LC 500s are Lexuses and are tuned for grand touring comfort. The ride was good, and the steering was muted, and the car could tackle a twisty back road but maybe not a track.
I didn't like how the LC 500 convertible shimmied over bad roads. I think the LC 500 coupe would fix that and be the one to get.
Have you driven one of these LCs? What do you think?

I almost bought one. They're very nice. Just don't think I'd drive it enough. An Audi R8 with a V10 in the back though... now that's truly music to my ears! The Lexus is like half the price though. I think that's why I bought my Jaguar F-Pace SVR actually. It's like a half price Urus.

I'm all for the half-price bargains, but in this case I think the R8 V10 is the way to go. You get better sound, better looks, and better handling!

I mean, you can at least buy the LC 500, the LFA is a legend that is almost impossible to buy and they go for a way higher price in every way, the V8 still sounds good in the LC 500 but it will never be like the LFA.

Only reason I didn't buy one is the CarWow guy (sorry, forget name) bought one and it bogs down in every drag race. Older models don't seem to have an issue so looks like something changed. I really hate having to deal with issues like that and I figure if guy with a YouTube car channel can't get it resolved I'd stand a snowball's chance in Hades.. anywhosies..

And quite frankly I probably would have gone electric convertible if Kamala and Bidumb hadn't quadrupled Trump's tariff. *sigh* All the cool EVs are made in China.
