Reverse polarity when connecting battery
Title says it all, I was taking off the transmission and needed to provide a power source to rotate the driveshaft and I connected the battery with jumper cables and ended up making the cables hot and drained the battery, no more actions were made after, unsure which fuses to check or what to do.

If the battery that was still in the car had some juice left, this may not be that bad.
How empty/dead was it?
What year is your S550? (your sig doesn't say)
Did you do it under the hood or in the trunk?

check ALL pre-fuse boxes (probably blown them to hell) and buy a new alternator..... batteries probably hated it too - other stuff maybe properly muddled
easiest thing is to stop doing what some people mistakenly did in the 1970s - when they had half an excuse as positive earth cars where just getting old and previously dynamos didn't care... all of which meant things 55 years ago were still a bit odd
