Repetitive thumping noise in C300 rear
Hi,
I have a 2014 C300 Luxury Sedan. When I drive at low speed I hear a sound I can only descripe as wap-wap-wap-wap that increases in speed as my speed increases. It seems to be worse when cornering. The dealer thought it was the differential but ruled that out. they found a bad CV joint on the left front and replaced that, and also adjusted the parking brake. But the noise persists. it is significantly louder when the rear seats are folded down, which makes me feel sure the sound is coming from the rear end and not a front CV joint.
Has anyone else experienced this? I have had the car back in the shop for this twice and have a third appointment scheduled for next week.
The car has just over 100K miles on it and has been maintainted by the MB Dealer its entire life.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting are much appreciated.

Oddly enough, just saw a YouTube vid where that same problem was occurring and it turned out to be a busted rear sub-frame. I’ll try to find it and post.

I may be wrong as he refers to it as a shift, still worth a look.

Similar noise
I have a 2014 C300 with a similar noise but it sounds like it is in the front. It will be interesting to see what your dealer finds out this time.
