2025 EQE 350 4MATIC SUV CCS Charging Port

MB released the 2025 EQE 350 4MATIC SUV specifications on their web site and the CCS charging port is still being used. Many auto news outlets said MB would switch to the NACS charging port for all 2025 models but that did not happen for the EQE SUV, at least not yet. I wonder if Tesla firing 500 of its staff that worked solely on the Supercharger part of their business has slowed down MB's adoption of the NACS? GM just rolled our support to their owners and KIA was right after them. It's looking more and more like MB delayed the switch for now.

There's no excuse for delaying the port. In fact, you won't be able to charge most new EVs at max speed at a 400V Supercharger anyways. To get max rate out of the 2025 Ioniq 5 XRT with NACS port you'll need to use a CCS adapter at an 800V charger.

And I don't need Elon's permission to level 2 charge with NACS either.

I believe what they said was that NACS would become factory standard "during 2025" - that would be for the 2026 model year.

They should have put an asterisk next to *2026 with a footnote that said: "If we're still in business because everyone else will be selling MY 2025s with a NACS port." I mean, how hard is it to swap out the connector? They both use the same protocol for identification so should be easy, IMVHO. In any case, even if there are some logistic issues involved, I really don't think a lot of people would buy a expensive new phone with a Micro USB port when all the other phones come with USB-C as standard. Seems like a major bonehead move to me.

As a side note, I hear Stellantis is looking for a new CEO... maybe Ola Kallenius should apply.
