EQS Third row

EQS Third row
The 2024 EQS SUV Build page is finally up (yay, it’s only June). The page doesn’t allow me to configure a third row. With the previous 2023 build page I could configure a third row. Can anyone confirm if this is just a website limitation or if third row seats are being discontinued?
I ordered a 2024 EQS SUV back in early November when they started accepting orders, no build slot yet nearly 7 months later, which is frustrating. When ordering I did ask for a third row and my order confirmation shows this but am wondering if they will kill that line item when it’s actually time to build.

I initially checked the 450+ SUV configurator since you did not specify the model in your post. I assumed if the 3rd-row option were available for the entry level model it would be available for all three variants. I confirmed that the option is not in the build interior page for the 580 SUV. This is almost certainly an oversight.

jamshedd, I ordered a 2024 580 EQS a few month ago at the dealer and can confirm that there is an option for a third row. Weird why its not showing up on the website. My ETA build date supposely starts at the end of this month and will take 2-3 weeks to build.

Perhaps not that relevant but are there no 2023s on lots with a 3rd row in the US?
Most of the inventory in Canada does not have it,but I was able to find one, and at a massive discount off of MSRP.

It could be that many EQS SUV buyers are empty nesters. In well over 100000 miles on my ICE GLs I think the third row was used once. And that was when I loaned the car to my daughter to take a road trip.

The only way to get reclining rear seats in the EQS SUV is to get the Maybach trim. We're getting an EQS sedan with the new executive seating package, this offers a more adjustable and more S-Class like rear seating experience (although without the headroom of the S-Class/EQS SUV).
