See ya...this blows
Well - unfortunately Hurricane Helene had other plans for my life as a 2004 S55 AMG owner.....I moved her to "high ground" - unfortuantely it wasnt high enough. So with all the water we had (I live in Dunedin, FL) not only did it devastate our house and belongings...but my beloved MBZ.
My mechanic has a C63AMG that he would sell me....so who knows. Once everything is processed I will be back....not on this area though!
Thanks so much for all the help/advice/support....take care everyone.

Thats terrible, sorry to hear but at least you and your family are OK. Hang in there, theres always another AMG around the corner. Collect what you can from Insurance and find your way into something nice.
Best of luck

Sorry dude. Total bummer. I have nightmares about such things. Hope all your people were/are safe.
If the car is all you had to worry about, it might make for a good salvage…Hopefully no ingress into the engine block or trans. if you had a spare dry garage to air it out and disassemble all the wet stuff. But there’s only so much one can take on in this life.

Damn that's fuqqq'd up! Like others, I hope you and your family are all well, as I watch the death toll continue to rise. A friend lives in Sarasota but has a winter home in NC -- he was at NC for this storm while Sarasota was relatively unscathed. NC not so much. You can get another one of these if you want with the insurance money. Family and the memories in the house, not so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, but at least you're still here with us.
Cheers,

Lost my '03 S55 similarly, when our area flooded during the rains from hurricane Sally in 2020. We didn't get surge, or even wind, as the storm was well west of us, but we got biblical rain, and my lot flooded worse than Michael, which was a direct hit. Didn't seem too bad at first, but the brake lights coming on was a sign that not all was well. Water got under the rear seat and all of that electronics got toasted. It would crank, but it never again even tried to fire, and none of the remote entry worked, had to use the key for everything.
In my case, I was actually kind of glad... I got a very nice settlement from the insurance company, and the air conditioner went out a couple of weeks prior to this, and I was quoted over $2000 to fix, as the entire front of the car is apparently built around the compressor. He said the radiator and intercoolers had to come out, the ABC/power-steering pump had to come out, and the engine had to be lifted of the mounts slightly. Breaking the ABC was at least half of the quote.
(The Miata fired right up after the water went down. I had to shop-vac the water out of the cabin, remove the carpet, and then replaced the ruined matting with that peel-and-stick silver-sided stuff, cleaned the carpet with a pressure washer, and I'm still driving the Miata.)
The insurance money got me a 2007 Jaguar XJ8 L, so I'm still in a big, long-wheelbase sedan, just not one with almost 500 horsepower.
So, flood car buddy, I feel your pain, although with the issues coming up on mine, it wasn't quite as painful as losing a really good car. I do miss that supercharger, though!!!

My shop in FL has fielded over 50 calls in 2 days about totaled flood cars from customers they service. Salt water damage from the gulf. Some customers lost 6, 7, 8 cars, all irreplaceable classics. Done. That's a very big number in a very small community.
