MB S550L 2008 (W221) M273 388hp
Exclamation Broken part in the sector near the hinges of the front right door
This broke today (see photos) when opening the front right door. It just cracked and came off, I kept the piece of that O-ring.
The door doesn't feel like it used to when opening and closing because of the problem.
What is the name of this part (it looks like a shock absorber/reliever to me), I assume it is bought new or 2nd hand, and if anyone has come across is it difficult to remove/install? I probably have to remove all the covers to get to it for work...

its the end of the door check strap

looks like the wind caught it as the body end is bent too - although just spotted loads on ebay and the car end is a metal ball joint
