**HELP me decide! which rims to get for my SLK55?

Go with choice 3, then choice 2, the other two don't even think about. But why get different rims. The 16 spoke amg rims are really nice when they are chromed. its $800 for the dealership to chrome the rims. I might get the SLK 55. It is black and I am ganna get the rims chromed.
I hopefully will get the SLK 55 AMG,
-Black exterior, two tone black and ash(white) interior
-Lighting Package
-Entertainment Package with Nav
-Premium Package
-Airscarft Ventilated Headrest
-Chrome 16 Spoke AMG Wheels.
Looks really nice!

Any reason why nobody seems to like choice 1 (Brabus Monoblock)? My 55 is due in early July and I've been looking at wheel choices and the Brabus was my top choice (along with the AMG Double Spoke 2-pc found on the SL 65).
Any insight from all the experts out there would be great.

Of course I do like the 841Rs the best, but they are also clearly the most expensive.

I think it will look nice to have some 19". In terms of the ride and performance, you probably pay a price with the 19's". I have not made up my mind, about what am I gone order. I exchanged a few Emails with Harris, who gave me a few good pointers. I will probably visit with him in Vancouver.
There is something to be said, about wondering what wheels to get, as if this is the single most important thing in your life.
I feel so much better to see that other guys have the same little worries .

I do agree the 1/16 is one of the better looking wheels for the R171. I'm considering to put them on my 350 because they are relatively inexpensive and my wife forbids me to put any wheels over 3K on HER car. However, I must also say there are definitely more than 1 choice out there. Putting what wheels on a car is a very personal thing, like wearing a shirt.

Can you buy rear wheels from Carlsson without a lip? The last picture above my post look good (or am I seeing the spokes' reflection in the lip?). But I generally dislike a huge lip on a wheel like on the 1st picture.

None of those.
BBS LM in 19". BTW, I have seen the Carlsson up close on the 171 and it does look great.

1) Do I like the stock 16 spoke and just stick with it (not sure if it looks agressive enough).
2) What are the consequences to ride and comfort if I went up to 19".
3) If I do go aftermarket, what wheel to pick from.
4) Worried about potential problems going aftermarket in terms of fit.
5) Perhaps I'll go aftermarket but stick with 18".
....and on and on and on.
With all the worries going on in the world today, I do think this is totally silly that I'm fretting over some wheels on a car (and my fiancee for sure thinks I'm a dork on this). My dealer thinks I should just wait until my car comes in and that I'll probably be so blown away by the car itself that I'll soon forget about wheels and he's probably right. And since I've got a wedding to pay for this summer, the 5-7K that new wheels and tires will cost could probably be better spent elswhere :p

Think I've decided
I think I've finally decided on which wheel to go with on my incoming Black SLK 55 (if I decide to go aftermarket). Most of you might think it's a little to generic but I really dig the 19" AMG Double Spoke 2-pc (I wish I could figure out how to post it's pic here).
Most of you have probably seen it on the Black SLK 55 that's on a thread in this forum. HOWEVER, I'm planning on going with the one that is finished in "Bright Satin w/ Machined Lip" that is the original equipment wheel found on the SL 65. I think it'll look even better than the "Bright Silver" which is what's on that SLK 55 in the other thread.
(Any photoshop help showing that car with the "Bright Satin" finish would be much appreciated).
After this AMG wheel, I think my order of preference is:
Brabus Monoblock VI
One of the HRE's
Kleemann
I decided on the AMG because I'm more of an orignal equipement kind of a guy and I don't like to change things up to much. Not sure if I'm sold on the stock 16 spoke wheel and I think the AMG will add just the right amount of "aftermarket/agressive" look without going overboard.
Anyhow, just my opinion.

Congratulations on your wedding this summer. Obviously, the SLK55 AMG in black with the classy 19" AMG Styling IV wheels will be a nice complement to your wedding
Harry was outstanding for me as well, with his explicit professional answers and competitive quotes. I strongly recommend him to anyone on the board interested in aftermarket upgrades. I definitely visit his new auto shop in Vancouver.
In fact, he was saying, that it would be too funny for both of us to get to Vancouver and install the wheels at the same time (we both get the cars at the end of June).
That will make for an interesting drive . We will have cars tagging us all the way to downtown Vancouver. Who would miss the opportunity to see two different SLK 55 AMG's on the road ?
