Lowering the car will void the springs warranty only. But they also have to PROVE that adding the springs is a DIRECT cause of whatever failure that you have in order to void it.

Tire Sizing
Harris,
Thanks for your response
Just curious to the size as I'm hearing different things from different people. I figured going to 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear wheels would utilize 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 tires. However, I've also seen the following tire size choices:
235/35/19 front
255/30/19 rear
and for the Brabus MB VI, Brabus seems to say from what I've seen:
"Brabus recommends high-performance tires from Michelin or Pirelli in sizes 225/35 ZR 19 on the front axle and 255/30 ZR 19 in the rear."
Appreciate any input from others.

I'm going to a Fikse rim (better design/lighter weight than stock), but will stay at 18" to preserve the SLKs handling without forfeiting ride quality. Just my 2 cents.

Joe: the most popular tire sizes on a 19" wheel are 235/35/19 and 265/30/19. Remember we want to keep the overall diameter of the front and rear as close as possible. Here are the overall diameter of various sizes:
235 = 25.5" Michelin PS2
265 = 25.3" Michelin PS2
225 = 25.5" Pirelli PZero Nero
225 = 25.2" Michelin PS2
255 = 25.0" Pirelli PZero Nero
If we put 235/255, there will be a 0.5" difference, which might cause a slight error on your speedo. On the other hand, if we put 235/265, it will be close enough. However, I've seen a SLK350 with 235/265 Continental ContiSport2 has a rubbing problem in the front (the car has Carlsson 1/16). Rolling the front fenders is, therefore, necessary.
If you dont want to roll the fenders, getting 225/255 should be a better choice. But there are only two tires that make 225/255 those sizing: PZero Nero and Dunlop Sport Maxx. Both tires are not my favorite.
Another alternative is to go custom wheels, e.g. HRE. I am sure HRE can calculate the right offsets for your car so that it can be fitted with 235/265 tires.
YellowR1: I have put 17", 18" and 19" wheels on my C32. The ride difference between 17" and 19" is definitely noticable, but between 18" and 19" is not that bad. But what is acceptable to me might not be acceptable to you. A Mercedes with 19" wheels should feel better than a Bimmer with 19's. The seats on a Mercedes are more comfotable and the suspension is softer. You wont take such a huge toll with 19's.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the input on 18" to 19" comparo on your C32 Harris
.
I usually drive my RX-7 (it was a spine breaker from the factory & its been lowered w/Springs, 35 series rubber, lightened, thicker anti-sway bars, etc so its rather "stiff"
). However, the SLK is primarily for my wife so I don't wish to have 2 cars with "extremely firm" ride quality. I'm sure 19" rims are plenty tolerable per your input, its just not for our SLK - we already have a tight ride in our RX-7.
See you,
