Buzz/rattle in overhead console

All terrain is tight except for a squeak in the overhead. While I’ve fixed it with floss picks it’s just not the look I want. Does anyone know how drop the panel so I can put some felt pads behind it? I’d rather avoid the dealer trip. Thanks!

What I did to mine, and other plastics panels, is to press on it a bit hard with your fingers. It creaks loudly on the first press and it got minimized after a few hard presses, maybe not a bit hard. The panels do not creak or not as loud as before now. I do not know If I should recommend doing this lol.

the plastics in this car creak quite a bit for something at this price point. Hoping it “settles” after a bit.

I thought I had a rattle in the overhead console also, but as it turns out - it was in between the rear view mirror rear assembly and the point that meets the windshield / console assembly. For me, if I reached into the narrow crack / connection point between the two, the rattling stopped. I put a whole bunch of furniture / felt tape in between the two areas and it softened the impact between the two and completely eliminated the rattling. The rattling was not persistent before but was present when driving over rougher terrains / roads not as smooth. now it’s gone completely. worth checking it out.
