A and B Service Costs

Anyone care to share their ‘A’ and ‘B’ service costs? I ordered a GT 55 and I’m just trying to see if prepaid maintenance is worth it. I asked the same question in that forum but I se cars are similar. Thanks.

This was provided by someone else for their C43! Wild. I always assumed the ‘A’ and ‘B’ service costs were semi-consistent from dealer to dealer based solely on the semi-fixed prepaid maintenance cost, but I don’t think that is the case.

MB’s of all kinds.
Stealership!

A and B service is basically oil change and a bunch of inspections! It has been this way for a while. Any good euro shop can do this for a fraction of the price. Many people just DIY. Paying $1,000 to basically just change oil on this car is crazy.

Here is one for the AMG GT https://mbworld.org/forums/amg-gt-gt...ice-costs.html
similar discussion in the W205 thread as well.

https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-amg/926652-pretty-obnoxious-pricing.html

It seems like the price is not specific to your model and prices might be lower or higher depending on the model. So the email is a generic one.

That special doesn't even say that it's for an AMG btw. Stupid pricing...

Here is the current A-Service pricing (non AMG) for Fletcher Jones Mercedes of Beverly Hills for reference. Was looking up the local pricing at our dealer (which is similar but they pulled them down for upcoming May specials)

I'm always suspicious of pricing when it's preceded by "starting at", "as low as", "beginning at", etc. Much like MSRP base prices, they never really exist.

True but it does vary a bit. An oil change on a V8 will cost more than a 4 banger…

This was to show how ridiculous the OP’s shown special was. Fletcher Jones in Beverly Hills isn’t known to be the bargain dealer in the country…

Yeah, I don’t get why some dealerships are so much more expensive than others. I’m hoping more people will share as this js all good information that you can take back to your own dealer and/or choose to go elsewhere.

The door rate of stealerships are higher and perhaps the technician have a higher pay in general after "training".

Yeah the pricing is nuts. I did pay ~ 2,000 if I recall for the 30k and 40k service which includes spark plugs. It’s still better than the insane quoted prices above for standard service A and B. Tbh once warranty is up I will just go indie if I’m keeping the car.

For reference I just bought a new RS7 and prepaid for 4 years service. It came to $2,650.

I’m tending to believe that location and competition plays a role in pricing. An area with few dealerships, or where one auto group happens to own all of the dealerships within a 50-mile radius (hello monopoly), pricing will be much higher. It’s anecdotal, but I’m kind of getting that sense. Thanks for posting Dunga. I’m hoping others will share.

For sure! not all dealerships are created equal, most are family owned and others are automotive group owned (as you mentioned) so there is less competition or incentives to compete for your business, I am Canadian so not fully sure but AutoNation is a big one in the USA I heard.

I can imagine. Each time I feel brave enough to explore the 911 listings in the country I get a stroke. Yesterday saw a 2022 911 Carrera Convertible (base) with a basic spec and at 51,000 miles listed for $126,000 and change. Sigh…..
