2014 E350 base headlights-lamp upgrade

SORRY everyone if there’s already a thread for this, but I’m wondering if the actual bulbs can be replaced with updated ones? I can’t afford to try and upgrade to the LED setup, and it sounds like a huge pain in the azz!

Thanks for your input in advance

your chances of success are tied to finding a bulb upgrade for your existing headlights setup.

What type of headlights are your starting with: 12Volt halogen or HID's with high-voltage ballast ?

LED headlights are definitely the way to go. Many forum members have gone through this upgrade. I did not... I factory ordered my car with the basic LED - I remember thinking it should be less troublesome than the dynamic type.

I think unplugging the ballast should not cause other module disruption from ghost... scan!
Matching the FOCAL location of the replacement LED will give you best results with a focussed beam.

Great, you have the most easy upgrade ahead of you.
You have 12Volt connection to the bulb (not an HID high-voltage igniter)

Match your bulb on Amazon search
Read the reviews for beam
Follow instructions to Install

Good evening my friends, if you’ve performed this upgrade from halogen to LED headlight bulbs, I’d love to hear what brand of bulbs you choose, and how you feel about them now. Grateful for the feedback

I remember reading how @JCM_MB experienced doing this bulb upgrade with the selection of best LED's - JC should have the insight you need.

I have the stock LED HL, the basic motionless beam.

I have recently started upgrading my new to me E350. Mine is stock halogen style headlamp. No turning or HID from the factory. Both the high beam and the low beam bulb types are the same on my vehicle, and it’s the H7 bulb. So I ordered two sets of those, and replaced both high and low beam as I do drive a lot through state backroads that have zero illumination at night. The total cost of the upgrade was $80 and about an hour of my time. Absolutely worth it. It’s very bright and thanks to the good quality bulb it is also the right pattern on the road. Just heads up, the driver side is a bit of a pain to reach to replace low beam, you have to remove at least partially the wheel fender to get access to the bulb area. Passenger side is significantly easier and can be accessed on my E350 from the top. The bulbs I used are Fahren Termitor 2026 bulbs. They didn’t require any specialty programming or canBUS cancelers of any kind, everything plug and play, no blinking or strobing. Have used those before and never had an issue. Also, whichever LED bulb you go with, make sure you purchase a 1:1 mini H7 bulbs, or you will have to change the bulb mounting bracket as well. Best of luck and hope this helps.
