SL/R129: 300Sl-24 roof recalibration
I am new to the forum and I hope someone can help me with an issue.
I am the proud owner of a 1992 300SL-24, and recently I've had to have the infamous roof cylinders replaced. One day, when I was putting the roof back up, the system leaked on my floor and we started by just replacing the failed cylinder but as we suspeted, we eventually had to replace I think all of the cylinders minus the ones on the top of the windshield. The issue is that after some weeks in the shop waiting for parts, all the parts got replaced and I got told that there was no leaks, but when I got to see the car, the mechanic told me that the roof had lost calibration, and needed to be pushed to some point for it to start working, so I was wondering if recalibrating the roof is even a thing and how it should be done, or if it has been badly repaired.
Thank you.

For a clear visual guide on manually raising or lowering the soft top, this tutorial shows the exact steps:

Follow this simple, step-by-step process to get your R129's roof back in sync.
Step 1: Re-Sync the Windows
The roof controller relies heavily on the window limit switches to know where the vehicle is in its opening or closing sequence. [
- Close all doors and roll both windows all the way down.
- Press and hold the window switches in the DOWN position for 3 to 5 seconds after the windows have fully lowered.
- Roll both windows all the way up.
- Press and hold the window switches in the UP position for 3 to 5 seconds after the windows have fully closed. [1, 2]
Step 2: Clear the System
- Turn the ignition key to position 2 (dash lights on, but do not start the engine).
- Locate the convertible top switch (the arrow-shaped button on the center console).
- Push the switch all the way forward (or pull it back depending on the roof's current position) and hold it for 10 to 15 seconds. You may hear a soft click or see the light on the switch change. [

Step 3: Test the Roof
- Turn the ignition completely off and remove the key.
- Re-insert the key and turn the ignition to position 2.
- Try operating the roof as normal to see if the system completes the cycle. [, 2]
Step 4: The Manual Override Reset
If the controller remains dormant, it may have a stored fault code locking it out. You can perform a hard reset by manually locking the top. [1]
- Use the factory Allen wrench tool (located in your trunk tool kit) to manually lock the front of the top into the windshield header, and the rear latches into the tonneau cover.
- Disconnect the negative terminal on your battery for at least 20 minutes to wipe the control module's memory.
- Reconnect the battery, re-sync the windows (Step 1), and try the power roof switch again. [

If the roof switch flashes erratically or the roof remains stuck, could you tell me:
- What is the exact position of the roof right now (open, closed, or halfway)?
- Is there a flashing light on the convertible top switch or the roll bar?
