Resyncing Soft Top Hydraulic System
I have a 95 SL320 and need to know if there is someone here that knows how to resync the hydraulic system..? I already know about resyncing the windows and disconnecting the battery.
My problem is..when I try to lower the soft top..it will release the rear top tabs then, just stop for no reason and not go any further...?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks and Happy Motoring !!!

Mine was acting similar when I started noticing hydraulic fluid leaking from the upper front window. So I use my manual tool To unlock the front and when I folded back the convertible top I notice a cylinder leaking. I hope this is not your case but I just published a thread about replacing all of the o-rings for a cheep price. Its sum what time consuming but better than paying somebody $600 to 1100 dollars to fix them. I hope this is not in your case. Best of luck.

Top hydraulics' Klaus Witte, is the answer man, but what I understand from your first remarks, it sounds like no other "unlocking" has happened when the top stops. Several loud clicking sounds are early in the process. All four sounds are "open the latches", both windscreen (front) and back soft top.
Hydraulics move the top, front, pop-upped away from the windshield top and back, folding the window up to the top.
The cover, (with interior colored leather) then moves up from horizontal to vertical. ( latch sounds start the movement).
all of the above steps require the controller and hydraulics. Before any of this can start the windows and roll bar, as well as door, hand brake and shift lever in P must be also in the right place according to the controller.
Top Hydraulics has provided great service and support, get in touch with Klaus to diagnose you RST issues.

how do I re sync my soft top on 94 Sl320
I am having a similar problem, I have replaced my pump and now my roll bar goes up and down, the windows go up and down, but my top will not budge. I have heard that it may be a re syncing issue. Any idea how this may be done?

I have since sent in the Control Module to BBM, however they found a bad chip in the module and said it couldn't be repaired. They also said these control modules are very rare, but offered to sell me one for 1100.00, I said no thanks. So now what I do is disconnect the battery for about ten minutes, reconnect the battery roll up the windows and hold the button for a few seconds. Then turn on the engine and push or pull on the RED button to make he top do what I want it to do. Kind of inconvenient but I'm still able to use the top.

"Rare" controllers have been used mainly on non-US late model year 94. I assume you sent your controller to BBA? They may be correct, but there have been a few odd stories surfacing lately. Check out http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129...l#post10044394
Maybe you can read codes on your controller - see http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129...ml#post2419223.
