I want to buy this e63s from auction. It has 80k miles its a run and drive has a check engine light. The concern is that on the idle video can hear this knocking sound in the background. Im aware of the purge system tick but this seems different. I was thinking maybe hpfp since it missed a couple of beats(maybe rules out rod knock) or maybe timing chain. But it does seem kind of metallic.I would have to buy the car sight unseen. Does anyone else have a better idea? Thank you

Your gambling with sight unseen, no ppi... what are your odds for winning vs. upside down ?
The engine idle sounds rather smooth as presented.
The good news is the unusual rattle is not in sync with crank Rpm.
This 80kMi car could be a good/bad deal...
who knows about everything else, may need its $20k engine out repair soon - Your call!
