Any sign of leakage - they can fail but it would be unusual for both to fail at the same time. Any other signs of action? If not, check the hydraulic pump in the trunk.

Yes. There is a tool in your tool kit. I'm not sure how to describe it. It's the biggest one.
Behind/above each of the visors there is a plastic cover about the size of a dime. Remove it and you can use the tool to manually release the front hooks.
If you have an owner's manual the specific instructions are in there with illustrations.
