Key "container"

Is it possible to purchase a new key "thing" (don't know what to call it) that houses the key and electronics for the door locks? Both of mine are broken but the electronics still work. I'd like to just buy some and transfer all the guts into the new "cases". Where can I buy??? Thanks for your help, Chris in Portland, OR

eBay. Many Benz keys to be found.

Thanks JAM

Found a bunch of them on eBay but it looks like the key has to be machined. (they come complete only, not just the case) I guess I could still take the key out and replace it with mine. Do the electronics that are in it have to be re-programmed too?? Would've asked these questions on eBay but couldn't get my password to go through correctly

That is exactly what I would recommend--buy the eBay key and disassemble. If the housing is the problem, this shold solve.

Thanks again...

I guess that'll have to work. Kinda a shame to spend 30 bucks for a 5 cent piece of plastic but we get used to it when you own a Mercedes, right?

30 bucks beats the hell outta shelling out 200+ for a new key!

Speaking of which, I still need to get my new key programmed.
