1999 Mercedes Benz SL500 & 2009 E350 4Matic Wagon
Ground Strap for Static Electric Charges
My SL is black and is, therefore, a dust magnet. Years ago when I owned a black car I installed one of those conductive rubber ground straps that seemed to reduce the collection of dust due to static electrical charge build up. The strap drags on the pavement and discharges static buildup. My question is, if I install one of these on my '99 SL will I mess up the on board electronics?

Ground Strap OK
If anyone is interested, I talked with the manager of our MB dealership today, and he stated that the addition of a ground strap would be just fine and that it would not cause the electronics to go goofy.
