Hids
I need to put HIDs on my 320 SL. Should I just get high quality bulbs(know any good brands) or a complete HID kit from MB. Appreciate the advise.

Need a complete set of HID bulbs & electrical device.
But it is not necessary to be a MB parts, Japanese can do.
Sometimes, the HID will get a error warm light on, because of different resistance.

Did you ever find the HID lights you wanted? I found some Phillips conversions for my 9004 bulbs, but they eliminated my hi/lo ability. I found some 'PIAA Xtreme White Plus' bulbs that are better quality halegen (much brighter and whiter and still DOT approved). The same company had a pigtail that plugs directly into my bulb socket and extends it w/ heavier guage wire and higher heat resitant sockets for the hotter bulbs. That was the problem before - melting my bulb sockets. They are not HID, but look similer and are much better than my OEM halegen bulbs. This is for my 1991 500SL, they have similar equipment for other models. My package w/ shipping was less than $100. You can find all kinds of replacement bulbs for less, but you get what you pay for. I was going to get the HID kit, but really wanted the hi/lo option and didn't want to spend over two grand to get it. Check out racinglab.com and see if it is an option you can live with.
