1st Post 2000 SL needs help
2000 SL Roadster
Engine 113.961 Chassis 129.068
New enthusiast here that can't find an answer to my problem with the search function.
Having some blower motor problems with this vehicle. Was very much hoping that this was a more common problem & had a cheap solution. I found two post where people did indeed have the same problem, but nobody ever gave them any feedback. Both post went unanswered.
It sounds as if the motor is hitting the housing under certain conditions.
What do most of you use for Spark Plugs? I can't bear the thought of using Bosch Platinums.
Who are the best non-dealer mechanics to see in my area of Dallas TX??

Nobody in Dallas can even recommend a good mechanic?
How is Louden or EuroImports??

The best Mercedes mechanic that I have ever found is Auto Hans in Addison.

It is German owned and operated. Alex Green is the mechanic that you will most likely deal with. He is definitely German, no small talk or anything, but I would bet that he can build an SL from scratch.
I have been using them for almost 10 years now and I have never had to go back a second time once they said that my car was fixed.

You assume everyone is from Dallas. I'm from the Bay Area of California and can recommend a couple good mechs here... but do you really want to drive that far? Don't know anyone in Dallas; suspect most others do not either.
