R129 300SL24 engine mods
Any ideas on gaining more power or torque or boths on the 300 engine.
I already have the supership and the full lorinser exhaust system..
Any possibilities of reaching the 100hp/l mark on an old engine? mind you
it has only done 88000 Kms[55.000 miles] so it still has the power.
I know Sl's are cruisers but one needs some accelaration..

Turbos or Compressors?
NA would be, blueprinting, cams, balancing, performance pistons.....
Think with old engines hard to get those per litre horsepowers. Maybe a supercharger, turbo or kompresor would help. it helped with the new Mercs.

Thanks mate,I know Turbo Technics in the UK did a twin Turbo conversion for the 300 24V engine a while back,but It cost about 3000 GBP back then.
Horsepower was up from 231 to 330 I think...I'll check with them if they still have that conversion or ultimately swap the 300 for a 500 and get it over and done with...

Thanks David, just what I was looking for..Unfortunately item was sold yesterday at a bargain price,considering all the extras that came with it.
GBP 800..
317 hp sounds good and 430 NM of torque..
I'll have to keep looking.
