SL/R129: Help for leaking top latch

Help for leaking top latch
My drivers side front latch started leaking today! The hyd.cylinder is leaking around the end that the piston comes out! Can this be repaired or do I have to buy a complete latch?? Thanks for your HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, are you talking about the locking piston for the hard top???
Have a good mechanic work on it. My mechanic got the part for like 130, and it took him around an hour to install it....... I suggest you find a good place to do it, that wont rip you off.

Thanks everyone, I knew where the oil was coming from, I ordered just the Hyd. strut on-line for $139.00 and installed it myself,works like a MILLION BUCKS!!!!! I just was not sure if I could buy JUST the hyd.cylinder or if I had to buy the whole latch!!! Now I will check into repairing the cylinder that I removed and keep it for a spare!!!
