I'll throw in a bit of history. Who can find the R129?

The pic was taken just outside my home... the house is on a private road... on the way to a Convent(!) and the nuns like people to take it easy when they are visiting... Thank you for your kind words.

Seems like a nice addition, and maybe less cost than replacing the whole
top, which looks like new still?

I am a newbie member. Hopefully I've enclosed a couple of pics of my 1996 sl500. Let me know what you think. I like the colour scheme and the AMG Kit with all the extras. It has 17 inch wheels but I could do with 18 or 19. Still, it's a great motor, I love it. I live in Spain and bought the car from a German, and I'm a Brit !

Hey Lea
I like your front clear corners. Where did you get them and how much do they cost.
I don't like the new one on ebay since they are all clear and can see the bulb. They don't match my lights since I don't have xenon light.
Thanks

I've seen plenty of hard-tops but like you very few panoramics :-( Looking forward to the pics of your IC trials and front indicators :-)
In the interests of cross fertilisation so to speak ;-) http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforu...hp3?forumid=18
You'll also find a wealth of tech info here:

I've done plenty of investigations and repairs to my R129, although always electronics biased, so maybe worth a search on 'LeaUK' if you need to fix something.
BTW - I love your wheels - may I ask how much they cost?

All my parts are original MB. I hate those horrible front indicators you find on eBay, especially those really clear ones (sorry if causing offence to others) - they just look cheap!
MB parts are not cheap but look perfect and fit perfectly. All are from year '2000. Front indicators cost around 60GBP each, rears 110GBP each! Side repeaters around 10GBP
But I love them.
Cheers for the comments.

I got the wheels of ebay 18" 9.5 rear and 8.5 front. They cost about £450 or so.... Tyres from black circles, (book and pay on the net and drive to your nearest depot - save a fortune).... are falken, about £90 each, fitted. I think the US guys can get them from tirerack - they are the ASA ST4.
Thanks for the links, I'll check em out asap.

Thanks, I have tried the dealer in US but we have the yellow corners. I guess I have to get in contact with the UK dealer one of these day.
I agreed with you that the one on ebay looks cheap, and if one wants to keep the value of the car, original parts are the way to go.
The ST4 wheels do look nice.
Thanks
