SL/R129: Ads?

Ads?
I searched the fourm and found a whole lot of people refering to ADS - could someone tell me exactly what ADS is?

Adaptive Damping System (ADS) description

Adaptive Damping System (ADS) Optional by special order ADS automatically selects one of four damping profiles every time a wheel changes its direction of up-down travel. ADS also includes automatic 4-wheel level control, driver-selectable ride height with speed-sensitive automatic lowering and a driver-selectable sport mode.
I believe ADS was not available until at least 2000 in SL500's. 600's, I don't know.
If it is on my baby, it is a secret to me, because I don't have any way to select the right height that I know of.
