SL/R129: E85 Ethanol

I know this has been posted elsewhere on MBWorld so please spare me the search lecture, I am inquiring about this fuel alternative for the R129 SL. Has anyone here ever tried it on their SL? From other posts, members have been saying that a custom ECU reprogramming is necessary. But is that it? I'd love to run 105 octane in my car and save some cash. More power, far lower emissions, and less expensive...not too bad of a deal. But the question here is whether or not it can easily be done on the R129's. Anyone?

ive ran 100octane racing fuel,
its awsome! the car runs soo smooth and it feel slike there is 10% more power. you do need to run it when it is only 100ocatane, mixing it does not make big diffrence.

I spoke to MBUSA and the technician said that it cannot be done on the M120 V12. The only vehicle they said could run safely on ethanol was the non-4matic C Class V6. Damn...I was kind of hoping to be able to run clean burning fuel at a higher octane on a tuned ECU...would have made some nice power gains. Oh well...
