SL/R129: 5-speed auto problem

5-speed auto problem
Hi,i have a 300ce-24,the same engine and transmission combo as the early 90's sl 300's, with the 5-speed auto.
My problem is that the 4th gear drops out and theirfor goes from 3rd to 5th.When the codes are cleared on the diagnosic equiptment,it will come back and operate as normal for anything from one to a couple of weeks,up to a record 32 weeks.Every time it fails we must clear the fault code(no7)to get it back.We have changed the :
1. transmission control module(computer)
2.shift solenoid
3.trans..wiring harness
4.valve body
5.overvoltage protection relay
and 6.complete trans overhaul
Nothing but nothing has cured this most frustrating problem i have,and now the Benz mechanics are completely baffled.
Has anyone had this problem,and do you know the answer.If you do i would not only be most grateful,but you would be labled a genius.
p.s. i have tried the technical section and the w124 forum with no success.
