SL/R129: SL 320 AMG 3 piece split rims
or will I need Spacers any reccomendation would be appreciated
they are in mint condition with no hairline cracks
I am not sure these wheels will fit a 2000MY R129. The Mercedes-Benz Light Alloy Wheel Brochure states that these wheels are "for pre-06/98 models only". In June 1998, MB facelifted the R129 SL for the final time, giving it SLK-style mirrors, 17" alloy wheels as standard fit, higher spec, and gloss finish lower body cladding. Underneath, the suspension was stiffened very slightly and larger brakes were fitted. This last change necessitated 17" standard alloys.
I understand that the wheels you are looking at--which in my view are gorgeous--will not clear the front brakes. I know they are 17" wheels, but the wheel centre is quite small and the wheel dish on the other hand is quite wide. I cannot give a definitive answer, however; this is only my understanding. If you get a definitive answer or if you buy the wheels and they fit, I'd like to know because I have always wanted these wheels for my car, I think they look great.
Finally, be aware that MB suggests you get the fenders rolled before fitting these wheels, but most owners who have gone to this size and beyond have suggested it is unnecessary.
Good luck!
