I need to replace my cluster... I dont want to buy one through the dealer for $1900 CAN... I found one for pretty cheap but its from a 94. Is it compatible???. even with slight modification??? I need to know ASAP.

My understanding is that ALL ICs are compatible whether new or old...
If you purchase from your dealer you will receive a new 'digital' ODO and it apparently drops straight in.

it should, i was talking to my machanic, and he said that if you break your IC, then you will automaticly get he most recent one.
