It doesn't blink any other times, just when you try to operate the switch rearward to release the top??? Have you tried to hold the switch forward in an attempt to reset the top latches and then pull back to release (or vice versa since I can't remember which way to work the switch for the HT).

I've had similar problems. Rocking the switch, letting the windows go all the up and down, driving it around, and rocking the switch some more got the top off.

Yes, totally random and unscientific, but it worked.

Top stuck

If I remember correctly, there is a timing requirement on the earlier models. Once the car is started, the top controller must be engaged within 10 seconds.

This happened to me last year. Sounds a bit unscientific, but try the rocker switch while the engine is running. Then get out and pull at the roof on both sides. Get back in and try again. Repeat until it comes loose.

Worked for me....
