300SL-24 1992 White
Could be from 92-93, my 300sl-24 got the 722.4 gear of 5-speed, it is called "mechanical 5 speed" because it's modified from 722.3, which is of 4 speed. I think, from 95, MB it changed to 722.5, so called"electrical 5 speed".

In the U.S., the 300SL automatic was always a 5-speed. The SL500 got the new electronically-controlled 5-speed automatic in '96, as mentioned by ChrisB.
