Questions on '91 500SL Antenna Install

I am planning on buying a new Hirschman antenna for my 1991 SL as the old one appears totally shot, i.e. no power sound or movement. Cost is about $240.00

In looking at the antenna location in the trunk, it appears that there is one large Philips screw at the lower base of the housing holding the antenna in place. Is this correct? I assume I will have enough room to maneuver the antenna over the bracing arm that holds the antenna unit head to the wheel wel...correct?

Also, should I disconnect the negative battery terminal prior to removing the unit?

Thanks for your help!
