Windshield Advice
Has anyone had the front glass changed out? Rather than cry and totally hate myself, I'll try and look at the brite side.
While changing out the blower motor and reinstalling the wiper system I cracked the windscreen just above the wiper pivot. Beware, I didn't hammer, twist, wedge, drop a tool or even have a clue that this could happen. My first mechanic induced glass failure.

Yep, I did after I picked up a rock thrown from a truck on I35 in Texas.
In any event, the guy came to my house and gave me the option of "M/B certified glass" for ~$5-600 or "standard" glasss for $250-300.
I purchased the latter over 4 years ago and it is still in place with no issues or concerns.

Thank you, after looking on line there are several mobile windshield installers that quote in the $300 range. I'm not so sure I can say anything positive about German glass either, it's very fragile. Glass from Japan seems to do better. I've always been happy with Pittsburg or Safelite too.
Years ago I bought a NOS Porsche windshield, complete with a new seal and antenna. Rock pits really get to these low sitting go carts. We started to install it a couple times and chickened out. It went with the car when I sold it. A good careful installer is worth his salt.

i got new glass installed about a year ago, the manfacturer is PPG and i have had no issues using non-oem glass, it also saved me alot of $$$, just find a reputable installer
it is 1000x better than the old pitted glass i had, you will love the diff if yours is in scratchy shape

BTW, it did not hurt my next premiums.
