HElp estimate value

My boss is looking at buying a 1987 560 SL coupe/sportster. My understanding is it has both hard and soft tops. He says the car is is excellent condition. the mileage on the vehicle is 41,000 miles. I ran a value from NADA and I show about $19,800 for the retail value even after the milage adjustments. The dealer is asking $30,900, I personally was thinking this is way high, over value for a vehicle, but I do not know much (if anything) about MB. Does anyone have an idea if this price seem outragous or fair? Thanks for the help!!

SL55 AMG
I agree much too high.

The 560 was not the best variant of the 107 IMHO anyway. That car is 15 years old, and a *30* year old design and it drives like it. Still good for a leisure car but as everyday transport, forget it.

The dealer is just being greedy, walk away.
