Question Need Tips about modification to SL600

Hello all-

I have a 1997 SL600 red/blk/blk , and I am interested in mabye doing intake, chip and exhaust, So does anyone have opinions on what to do, not many places make parts for the 600 i've noticed, i've seen k&n drop ins, and supersprint is the only company i've found that has a muffler that fits, I am kindof a noob at this, but you all seem very helpful!

Thanks in advance!

I swapped in dual K&Ns to replace my then dirty OEM filters, noticed slight improvement in throttle. Upgrading my tires to Dunlop Sport 9000s smoothed out the ride, the grip, and acceleration over stock 225mm wheels. Currently, I am done spending more money on the car. However, if the mod bug happened to bite me at the right time, I would custom fit a flowmaster 40 or 50 series muffler (not that expensive) along with SpeedtuningUSA performance chip and and sprint booster. All that should cost in the vicinity of $1000. Although RennTech makes an aftermarket intake system, it is not worth purchasing new - easily double the cost of muffler, chip, and booster combined.

Hope this helps and welcome!
