57. None of us are getting any younger...
'85 (107k miles) is a sentimental favorite but the 129 (12k miles) is so good. Some days I just don't go home.
Maybe a 230 only if the right deal came along.

Since this refreshed thread was opened ... only 26 people have responded to the new thread (and to the old one in the confusion) ... there seems to be only (26) R129 owners on the forum that are willing to post their age.

im 18, turning 19 in april. bought my SL from a 83 year old man back in 04, after i traded in my 00 C230k for it after having it only 3 months. i've put 35k miles on it, and now my odometer is reading 149k miles

With your odometer reading 149,000 miles ... your have the second highest R129 mileage of the 43 reports on this forum that I have noted over the last year or two.
EsEl had reported 187,000 miles.

87 560SEL, 95 600SL, 95/98 CL600
Will turn 53 in March.
I love my Benz's. Dad was an MB lover. Had to be manual though!
The SL600 is really neat.
I like the previous model's hardtop though, with the seeminly concave roof!
I am driving it harder lately to enjoy the nearly 400 HP!
the new stuff after 1999....not sure I like any of it except for sure the CL series through 06.

96 SL500, 97 E420
51 in March. Have had mine for going on 3 years, the last 15 months havn't bothered to put the hard top on. It is so much fun to drive with the top down. I had a 85 sec and was thinking of a s/cl 98-99, still may but I also thought about another 129 to keep the top on with. The only advantage I see on the r230's is the power hardtop, but not $30-$40k difference.

195K and counting....
My car is up to 195,000!!
Last weekend I FINALLY decided to update it a bit and put in new Chrome rings, LED's and burlwood shifter/shaft and polished the wood.
I am very happy with the new looks and now thinking about adding a new wood/leather steering wheel.

For $ 35 K you could have the advantage of hard top on one and soft top on the other!
You just need the garage space or real estate to do that.
To be fair the R230 probably has a few more features.

i will be 23 this March
500SL, ~99k miles at the clock
just got mine some two weeks ago
but it was the first car i ever drove (back in 2000 probably, also was a 500) when my dad had one and i can honestly say that i prefer it to all the other cars i drive now
DESPITE the fact that it is in desperate need of 18s and new tires
