OLD: 2004 C230 Sport Sedan, NEW: 2007 SLK350

Sl600 V12

I saw an R129 today that said SL600 V12 on its behind.

At first I thought that it was fake, but I found a picture of it on this forum.

How long has the SL had a V12 engine?

Any R129 with 600 in the name is a V12 but I'm not sure they ever put the V12 badges on the rear at the factory. I think they were only stock on the front fenders???

yeah.. the font does look kind of weird... on this V12 in the pic..

I don't remember what the font looked like on the car I saw on the highway..

2009 SL63 AMG

The R129 SL first utilized the M120 V12 in the MY1993 600SL, and the motor was kept all unchanged all though the production years of the R129. Interestingly enough, the first MB to use the M120 was the W140 - I believe one year before that.
