r129 sl500 carbon fiber kit available anywhere?
Looking for a reasonable kit to convert my wood to carbon fiber-
i prefer replacement vs application-
i've searched on ebay and the net but have not found anything other than a renntech dealer saying he can get a set from germany for 3k- and that is out of the question as I paid 19k for the whole car
Any other sources? Performance products doesnt have.

I am thinking of doing the same to my 129. I've found a shop locally (Hong Kong) that does an application on any surface to either Carbon fiber or MB wood look. They've done a couple car for me already, 1- Carbon on plastic 2- half wood steering wheel on my SL and both looks great.

Carbon Fibre trim was available ex works on special order (see Car magazine comparison of SL60 AMG with Aston DB7, Jaguar XKR, Honda NSX and Porsche 911 for photographs of a car so equipped--it looks great). It was also fitted to Mille Miglia special editions made in 1995 and 1999. It may be possible to order replacement trim through the dealer; I know, for example, that a leather and carbon fibre steering wheel is available at a price of 736euros (part number B6 681 7705). I should imagine it would be extraordinarily expensive, but then real carbon fibre is.

i have heard that it is very good quality and can make low quantity as well

the airbox and alot of the other engine compartment bits that he has molded already will be swappable on those with the m119 engine sl500 as well
