Outdoor Temp Sensor

I couldn't find anything in this forum, but I finally found the sensor. Like in aircraft, the outdoor temperature sensor should be the first thing the air "sees", so I found this black pointed thing sticking out of the grill, above the bumber, on the driver's side. It had been reading erratically. I finally found away to reach the back side, from underneath, and the connector was loose. I sprayed a little WD-40 in the connector, slid it on and off a few times, and reconnected. It works fine now. Hope anyone else with a similar problem is as simple, 'cause the signal probably goes all the way thru the computer, before it gets to the dashboard readout...

My clue was that it got worse after going thru the car wash - LOL

sensor

I was jsut getting ready to do a search and I fould your note. My sensor started acting up after a car wash and has never settled down. I am mechanically challenged. How did you find the connection? I know where the sensor is. Do you have to go under the car physically or can you reach around the umper and find it? Thanks.
