just got pulled over in the SL today, the cop said my car is to loud!! what an ***. also he got me for tint....again..
does anyone know where i can get a used ****ty muffler that i can weld on to pass the dbl test?

I would go in and get measured before swapping mufflers. Where in Newport did you get pulled over? I've been pretty cautioius are the streets here but I know its just a matter of time.

Yeah the windows are tinted to dark for Newport..and the Exhaust is Loud!
Ran with you yesterday on PCH and Jamboree...My Passengers even said That SL is LOUD with the windows up and the TV on...
Ive had several tickets with The Newport PD..Once they start..they will be looking for you!..Same cop..same ticket
The Motor Officers are the WORSE!

i would hate to spend $300+ on a muffler just to take it off again....
he said that he was not in the mood to do a full vehicle inspection (front plate, drop, smoked taillights and smoked clear corners) so he let me off for those.

Do you have any police friends? If you do - i dont know if you guys in Ca have this, but ask them for a "PBA" Card. Here in NY - NYPD and NJSP get cards with their badge # imprinted onto the card - they give them to family members so that if they are pulled over for something, you present it to the cop that stopped you, along with ur ID and all that - and u just hope they let you off since you are a "family" to cops.........
I have about 10 of em hehe. The only people we have to watch out for is Highway Patrol because here in NY - the HP dont give a darn about NYPD Cards....... they just toss em back to you or confiscate them and cut them up in front of you. etc
But - if u get those there, i am CERTAIN you can get out of things like that. Seriously.

Highway Patrol doesn't like the NYPD because NY is one of the only cities that handles its own highway patrol, and on top of it, NY Highway Patrol is not allowed to do any type of highway enforcement within NYC.

Granted, it was totally different kind of car (4 cylinder turbo vs our 8 cylinder) but when I went with a stainless 3 inch testpipe and Borla on my Porsche 951 it was AMAZING the difference in spool up, exhaust note, and performance...
