Did MB ever produce a factory exterior paint code for "tourmaline"? Talking with gentle who says his tourmaline color was factory paint...but mercedes shows no color code for tourmaline...Thanks

Well, Maybe...
I've seen a "tourmaline" code for models other than the R129. For example, take a look at this thread which shows a W123 color code:
269 tourmaline green * (*=metallic)
But page 156 of the SL Experience by John Olson lists code 269 as "Brilliant Emerald Met." offered on SL model years 1993-1994 and 1998. Clear as mud?
